This weekend I learn that it’s best to let everyone know before they come to visit what your priorities are. A friend came to visit that I hadn’t seen in a long time. I didn’t tell her what my goals were for this year, because I figured we would talk about it after she got here. She showed up with a huge box of gigantic cookies from a bakery. They weighed about 5 pounds. D’OH!
I did well resisting and will be bringing them to work in the morning so other people will eat them for me. No big deal.
We went ice skating today for over an hour. I traded in my old hockey skates this week for brand new Nike Bauer Comfort Skates. I love them. They are so comfortable! They are categorized as “recreation” skates, not hockey skates, but they closely resemble hockey skates. They don’t have the toe pick of figure skates. I skated for over an hour and my feet did not hurt, and my ankles did not hurt. Incredible. Oh an an hour of ice skating burned 450 calories. Cool.
