I have been sticking to my half-marathon training schedule pretty well, especially the long runs. Last weekend I ran 9 miles, and this weekend I am scheduled to run 10.
I have never run double digits before. I’m a little scared but mostly excited.
I have planned my route and will run Friday (tomorrow) afternoon.
The company I work for is taking everyone white water rafting this weekend for our summer outing. I will be rafting all day on Saturday and I am really looking forward to it.
It’s been on my bucket list for a while now, but with young kids I had put it to the side as something to do later. However, it’s now come back up to the top. We are bringing the kids on the trip. I will raft on Saturday while my husband watches the kids, and he will raft on Sunday while I watch them. There are enough people in my company that want to raft both days, so he won’t have to go it alone.
I am really looking forward to rafting mainly because I am now in good enough shape to be able to really enjoy it. I won’t be worried about not being good enough or being weak. I know I have the stamina and I know I have the strength. That is a good feeling to have.
I also really like my bathing suit, which is something I don’t believe I have said since I was 6 years old. I will not mind or feel weird about swimming with my coworkers. Wow, that was weird just writing that down, but it’s true. I am okay with myself now. It’s going to be fun.
I never thought I’d be excited by a weekend that consisted on running 10 miles and then rafting all day the following day. Yep, I am a different person than I was 8 months ago. There’s no doubt, running has changed me. For the better.

I am unable to join your Rss. Please help?
Hi China,
It appears to be working now. Try it again, and let me know if you are still having trouble.
Thanks,
Laura
