I went to the gym after work with the intent to run on the treadmill. I forgot that the first week of January brings gyms that are twice as crowded as usual due to those pesky New Years Resolutions. I couldn’t get a treadmill. I couldn’t get an elliptical. I tried the little track and I had some jerky guy yelling “track” at me every time he passed. It started to sound like “quack” after a while, so he forever will be the duckman in my mind.
So I ended up taking a bootcamp-type circuit training class. It was a solid 60 minutes of getting my butt kicked. It was awesome. It burned a good 550 calories in that hour, which rocks.
I didn’t run but I definitely got a similar metabolism supercharging workout. I really want to run though. I will try to get to the gym at an off time tomorrow so I can get a treadmill. I think after today’s beating, I will try to do a nice slow 2 mile jog.
